Marseillan is right in the heart of coastal Languedoc in the South of France. It is a fishing port with busy restaurants, bars and local market. It is also home to the famous "Picpoul de Pinet" wine and Noilly Prat vermouth. Millésime is just 10 minutes away from golden sandy beaches. It is 20 minutes by car from Beziers and 40 minutes from Montpellier. There are 5 airports within a 90 minute drive.

Marseillan
Marseillan lies around 50km (30 miles) west of Montpelier and sits on a large lagoon, Étang de Thau. The port is a is a protected heritage site. The town’s economy is based on fish, wine, trade and tourism. It has always been a major trading centre, a port and a popular stop for travellers.
The conditions in the Étang de Thau are perfect for shellfish. The lagoon’s oysters provide around 10% of France’s annual oyster consumption. Table wines are also renowned with Picpoul de Pinet being the most acceptable. About a million bottles are produced each year by the cave co-operative. The Noilly Prat company came to Marseillan in 1853 and is still producing vermouths on the same site.
Today, much of the village’s prosperity comes from summer visitors who continue to enjoy this traditional and bustling port.
Languedoc-Roussillon
The Languedoc-Roussillon stretches from Provence to the Pyrenees. The main city is Montpelier with its historic centre. Other major cities include Nimes, Narbonne, Sete and Perpignan. The region has a considerable coastal plain, much of which is flat. The coast is characterised by long Mediterranean sandy beaches. The Languedoc is also one of France’s major wine growing areas which produces a third of France‘s wines.
Away from the coast, the Languedoc is a beautiful area characterised by vineyards and arid rockly Mediterranean hills with scrub, aromatic bushes and green fields. North and north east of Montpelier, the valleys and more wooded and rural and give way the southern peaks of the Masif Central.
