Collioure
Collioure is a beautiful town on the Mediterranean coast in the south of France. It is the smallest and most picturesque of the Côte Vermeille resorts. Once Perpignan’s port, it became famous in the early 20th century when it inspired the Fauvist artists Henri Matisse and André Derain and later Picasso and Braque. The modern art museum includes paintings by Matisse. Today it has more than 30 galleries and workshops.
The town is also famed for its fine wine and its prized Collioure anchovies.
