A fascinating 6 bedroom ski chalet, with mountain views of Bellevarde face, in the centre of Val d'Isère, one of France’s most popular resorts.
The exterior alone is a true spectacle with a cave-like entrance and a carefully hand carved wooden door taking you into the chalet.
Chalet L’hotse has an abundance of features to keep you relaxed and entertained throughout your time there. These include a pool with jet streams, Jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. The chalet has a well equipped gym, massage room and solarium. Outside on the terrace the chalet also boasts a cedar wood hot tub which you can sit back and relax in whilst gazing across the valley at the mountain views.
Inside, the living area is decorated with cowhide sofas and a central log fire providing a wonderful alpine ambience. The wooden ceiling, delicate lighting and animal furs make for an exclusive and romantic atmosphere. The intricate bar in the living area is another hand carved wooden feature in the chalet. There is also a grand piano in the corner of the room next to the flat screen TV. There is another TV area in the separate snug which is ideal for children to relax in after a day on the slopes.
There are 6 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and king sized beds and TVs. The master bedroom has a dressing area and terrace access. There are a further 4 twin/double bedrooms, three of which have terrace access and one its own private terrace. The final room is a family suite with twin/double bed and an adjoining children’s bunk room.
The resort is a 3 hour drive from Geneva airport (220km).
The charming village of Val d’Isère sits nestled within Le Espace Killy, one of the Alps most dynamic ski terrains. Thanks to an extensive lift network, the village is connected with over 300 kilometres of piste and the neighbouring mountain town of Tignes. While Tignes has a robust reputation as a destination for serious skiers, its Val d’Isère, with its cobbled streets, chalet architecture and vibrant après ski culture, that’s regarded as one of the chicest spots in the Alps.
Located at 1,550m in altitude and just 5 km from the border with Italy, Val d’Isère is easily accessible, connected via road and train network to Geneva, Lyon and St Etienne airport.
A regular host of world-class ski championships, including Olympic events, Val d’ Isère combines challenging runs with a fantastic range of gentle slopes suited to both beginners and intermediate skiers. Its versatility makes it an all–round favourite; Come high-season, its legendary après-ski spots, like La Folie Douce, draw a glamorous international crowd, while top restaurants require booking weeks in advance.
Yet while in recent years, the array of boutique hotels, five-star restaurants, trendy bars and designer shops has been on the rise, it hasn’t tainted the magic of this intimate alpine town. It’s not hard to see why Val d’Isère’s legion of loyal devotees continues to grow.
