La Rosière

A little gem hidden high in the Tarentaise, La Rosière, has a lovely traditional rustic Savoyard feel with low-rise accommodation. The resort is formed of two villages; La Rosière 1850 and Les Eucherts, and hosts a great deal of activities for the whole family including bowling, cinema, ice rinks and many more, thus providing a lively, unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. The village has been designed to create ease and comfort for its residents and visitors. Many footpaths run between each village and to various accommodations and chalets.

The 160km of pistes of the ‘Espace San Bernardo’ attract families and beginners to mid-level skiers. More confident skiers in the family can pop over to La Thuile where more challenging pistes are available. Whilst heli-skiing is not allowed in France it is still possible, but only in resorts that reside close to the border of another country, namely Italy or Switzerland. La Rosière is one of these few resorts and by taking a helicopter from the Italian side you can be enjoying fresh untouched pistes in minutes. La Rosière also keeps up to speed with the latest snow sports, with snow kiting and speed riding readily available.

One of the most noticeable benefits about skiing in La Rosière is the absence of queues even during the high season. A sufficient number of fast lifts enable skiers to make the most of their day in the mountains.

La Rosière is also superbly located for rail links to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Leaving from London Saint-Pancras on a Friday night on the Eurostar ski train, you will be in La Rosière the next morning, thanks to the perfectly run coach service between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and La Rosière. By 2020, new lifts will be at your disposal enabling you to travel from Bourg-SaintMaurice to La Rosière even faster.

New lifts & pistes:

Considerable investment is also being made into La Rosière’s already impressive skiing facilities. Some 30km of additional pistes are being created, as well as two brand new high-speed chairlift systems high up in the resort.

These new lifts and pistes will reach enables skiers to reach new heights in the Espace San Bernado with a new skiable summit near the Mont Valaisan at 2805m. But perhaps more important is the increased number of slopes above 2000m in what is an already snow-sure resort.

It is possible for owners at Le Hameau de Barthélémy to reclaim 20% of the purchase price of their property.
